The Model 202 is our standard power cord.  Its 105 strand 14 gauge conductors are made from oxygen-free-copper (OFC).  It is a high quality custom power cord hand-made in the USA with a modest price tag. 

(When copper is drawn through a "die" to reduce its size to something usable (it often starts out as a 1/4" rod), a lot of force is applied and the metal actually gets hot enough to redefine the way the atoms of copper line up.  The reorientation of the crystal structure of the copper imparts a definite--directional--physical layout of the copper atoms.  It's this physical structure of the copper that influences the way electrons flow through it.  It is also the reason that wire has a "direction.")

This high quality, handmade, custom power cord uses OFC wire and a cryogenically treated high- current IEC connector.  (Cryogenic treatment improves the longevity and the conductivity of the contacts in the IEC connector.)

There are two reasons that make the option of polarity reversibility worth having: 1) There will be a reduction of capacitance between the power transformer and the chassis with one polarity, so less voltage (and line noise) will be induced into the chassis.  2) The component will often sound better with one polarity vs. the other.  NOTE: these two cases will not always result in the same plug orientation.
